1 《TheCigar Song》——Brad Paisley
Well I'm a sucker for fine Cubancigars
The problem is I can't afford 'em
But last year I went and got myself awhole box
And just to be safe I insured 'em
I took out a policy against fire andtheft
And then I hurried on home
With a fifty-cent lighter I sat on myback steps
And I smoked 'em one by one
Two weeks later I went to see thatinsurance man
And I handed in my claim
With a straight face I told him thatthrough a series of small fires
They'd all gone up in flames
They reviewed my case and they had nochoice
But to pay me for what I'd done
And I took that check and bought awhole new box
And I smoked 'em one by one
Two weeks later this detective showsup
Tells me that company's pressin'charges
One speedy trial later they locked meup
On twenty-four separate counts ofarson
And now I sit and I stare at a blankbrick wall
Lookin' back on what I've done
To pass the time I've got someten-cent cigars
And I smoke 'em one by one
Yeah, I smoke 'em one by on
2 《Havea Cigar》——Pink Floyd
这首歌出自1975年的Wish You Were Here专辑。
Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar.
You're gonna go far, fly high,
You're never gonna die, you're gonnamake it if you try;they're gonna love you.
Well I've always had a deep respect, and I mean that most sincerely.
The band is just fantastic, that isreally what I think.
3《ASmall Cigar》——Jethro Tull
就在PinkFloyd发行“Have a Cigar”的同时,Tull也在准备他们的专辑,而其中的新曲“A Small Cigar”讲述了一支小雪茄能改变世界的故事。
A small cigar can change the world
I know, I've done it frequently atparties
Where I've won all the guests'attention
With my generosity and suavegentlemanly bearing
A little flat tin case is all youneed
Breast-pocket conversation opener
And one of those ciggie lighters thatlook rather good
You can throw away when empty
Must be declared a great success
My small cigars all vanish withinminutes
……
By the tube station, there's a drunkold fool
Who sells papers in the rush hour
I hand to him ten small cigars
He smiles, says, Son, God bless you
